If I bring my car to your shop, how does that work?
In addition to offering mobile window tinting, we also tint at our home shop in Litchfield Park. You can either drop it off and pick it up at a later time, or we do have an air conditioned waiting room for our customers. Our waiting room is fully equipped with Wifi, television, complimentary water and snacks, a live video feed so you can watch the work being completed, and a restroom. We can even have toys for littles ones if they want to join you too. 🙂 In addition to all this greatness, we do offer discount pricing for in-shop services.

Does the full windshield get tinted? Is it legal?
Legally, the full windshield can not be tinted. Now, with this being said, there are options for the windshield. It is legal to apply a 6″ visor strip across the top of the windshield. We can also install a clear IR/Heat block film to the windshield that will usually go undetected from law enforcement, (but this is still technically illegal). If you have any medical reason for darker film, you can obtain a MEDICAL EXEMPTION from the MVD which will exempt you from the AZ tinting law. This will allow you to alter your windows to your liking without the risk of receiving a window tint ticket. The MVD does have certain restrictions for tint exemption, so be sure to research and contact them for more information prior to consulting your physician.
Full windshield tinting is done on a case-by-case basis. Since we are mobile and due to the extreme difficulty of windshield tinting, this service may not be available. Please contact us for more information.
Will my car be cooler when I get in on a hot day?
Yes, but for the most part, it’s going to still be hot due to the lack of ventilation that traps the heat within the closed vehicle. The big difference you will get occurs when you attempt to cool down your car with air conditioning. It will cool down much faster and be able to stay cooler inside your vehicle much easier. Also, you will begin to notice that the sunlight that hits your skin is much more bearable than before without any tint.
Do you tint all types of vehicles, including older and vintage ones?
Most passenger vehicles we do tint. The film application process is very difficult, so we are selective when it comes to some vehicles. The factors that influence our decision could be environmental, time constraints, or it simply may require an extra set of hands. We always strive to provide the best possible tint job for our customers. If we feel that certain factors may work against us too much, we typically do pass on the job. Older cars and some new ones too, have been proven to be too difficult for a single installer in a mobile environment. If we pass on your vehicle, please do not take offense(as we have had some customers in the past). We just want the best for your vehicle and we understand our limitations.
What is the black dotted pattern around my window?
The black dots, or matrix patterns, as well as the lines at the top of some windows are made of a Teflon type of material that is applied at the factory. Purely cosmetic, they hide trim lines and edges on different styles of autos. The thickness of these Teflon type areas make it challenging when applying window tint, since window films are designed to adhere directly to the glass. When black dots are encountered, the window film will ultimately stick to the dots and not the glass. This will give, depending on the thickness of the dotted area, a different and possible uneven look (white) in the area of the black matrix dots. Unfortunately, this is how the film does cure around the dot-matrix and is unavoidable.

What is the difference between factory tinted glass and after-market tint?
A lot of consumers are often confused by this. “Factory tinted glass” is glass that has been darkened by the manufacturer of the glass. There is NO window film applied to make it darker. Think of sunglasses, it’s just darkened glass/plastic. You can apply after-market tint over “factory tinted glass” without the need of removal, because “factory tinted glass” can not be removed. Most SUV’s and Trucks come with “factory tinted glass” on the rear windows only. You will NEVER find “factory tinted glass” on the front two windows. You can always verify tinted glass versus not tinted by checking for a film edge on the top part of the glass.
After-market tint has been applied by an actual film installer. Also, 4 and 2 door vehicles, i.e. Accord, Malibu, Camry, etc.. will never come with “factory tinted glass“. If it appears that the windows have been darkened, it is after-market tint that has been applied. In most cases, if you are looking to make the windows darker, the pre-existing film will need to come off first.
After-market window film is what gives you the greatest protection against heat and UV’s. If your truck or SUV does have “factory tinted glass“, it is NOT giving you the full benefits of what after-market window films has to offer. We always recommend tinting your entire vehicle, even if choose a light shade to ensure full protection on your vehicle.
What is window film contamination and is it acceptable?
Window film contamination includes airborne dust and dirt particles. We strive to apply our window films with as little contamination as possible, but there is always the chance of some specs collecting under the film while applying it to the glass. Due to our vigorous cleaning and careful application we do try and keep this to a minimum and is usually unnoticeable unless pointed out. Unfortunately, the chance of contamination is unavoidable due to the environment. Working in a vacuum would be the only option to eradicate this, but this is very unhealthy.
Will my windows be cloudy or bubbly right after they are tinted?
Yes, this will occur temporarily after your tint is installed. A thin layer of water will be trapped under the film until it evaporates. Often, as the film is drying, it may also contain a ripple look or fish scally appearance. Rest assured, this is normal and will dry out. The film should be dry and clear within a week in sunny, warm weather.
What are the tint laws for Arizona?
The front side windows: Must allow at least 33% of the light in. The back side windows and rear window: Any darkness can be used. Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed along the top of the windshield above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line. Also, be sure to read our article that fully discusses the laws of tint!
What does the film percentage mean?
The film percentage means how much light will filter through the film and reach the interior of the car. For example, 5% film allows 5% of light to filter through the film and reach the inside of the car. You may also visit our article about the shades of film.
